Renee E. Pacheco, 49 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Friday morning, January 28, 2011 at Heartland Care Center in the loving care of her dear family after a courageous battle against cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial for Renee will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. Fr. Brian Moen and Fr. Dale Kinzler will concelebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Renee will be Michael Pacheco Sr., Daniel Pacheco, James Pacheco, Michael Pacheco Jr., Dale Alberts, Mario Preciado, Andrew Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Jr., John Pacheco, Victor Pacheco and Eric Preciado.
Renee Ellen was born on May 21, 1961 at Park Rapids, Minnesota the daughter of Jerry R. and Betty L. (Berg) Vancura. She was reared and educated in the Park Rapids area.
Renee met the love of her life Michael J. Pacheco in 1989 and they made a life together. They were united in marriage on March 25, 2007 at Devils Lake and established their home here. Renee worked for a time at Spirit Lake Casino and the Fireside Inn and most recently worked at Mercy Hospital in the Housekeeping Department until illness forced her to retire.
Renee enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and Jeopardy was her favorite TV program. Renee loved to cook and bake and share her delicious creations with her family and friends. But to Renee, joy was family gatherings; sharing good food, good times, good stories and lots of love.
We have lost someone very special in our lives and we will miss her always.
Renee is survived by her devoted husband, Mike; children, Cory Groth of Minnesota, twins Brandon Nesemeier and Brian Nesemeier of West Fargo, ND, Jessica Pacheco, Daniel Pacheco and James Pacheco all of Devils Lake; step sons, Michael Pacheco Jr. and Dion Pacheco; brother, Randy (Shelly) Vancura of Wisconsin; many nieces , nephews and cousins also survive.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rick Vancura and mother-in-law, Mary Virginia Adams.
