Arlyce Ann Haugen, 57 of Aurora, Co, formally of Edmore, ND, passed away Feb. 1, 2011 at the Denver Hospice in Denver, Co. Funeral Services for Arlyce will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Living Word Free Lutheran Church, Edmore. Rev. Craig Wentzel will officiate and burial will be in the Edmore Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service and Time of Sharing at 5:00 p.m. Visitation on Sunday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. A Memorial Service for Arlyce will be held in Denver, Colorado on March 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Long’s Peak Room of the Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver. Serving as Casket Bearers for Arlyce will be all of her cousins. Music will be provided by Duane Isaacson, soloist and Lois Myrvik, organist. Arlyce was born June 18, 1953 to Orville and Alyce (Perich) Haugen of Edmore in Cando ND. She graduated from Edmore High school in 1971 with honors. She attended St Luke’s School of Nursing in Fargo, ND graduating with her RN degree in 1973. She started her nursing career in Crookston, MN, with stops in Grand Forks, Colorado Springs, and Denver. While in Denver she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She retired from Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver in August 2010 due to her health. As a dear daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all, Arlyce was without exception… sincere, compassionate and giving . She was modest, respected all people and truly appreciated the gifts GOD gives us. She was a joy to be with and had the innate ability to make people happy and laugh. She had made many special friends along the way in life. She had a compassion for people that were going through difficult times in their lives and would send cards, letters, gifts, along with personal visits. She looked forward to trips back to the farm for harvest. Arlyce enjoyed burning ditches in the fall. Her camera always went with her and she has many beautiful pictures of God’s creation in her house. She always cherished her family which included family reunions, weddings, and especially the milestones in the lives of Alysa, Sarah, Chad and Emily. Arlyce expressed personal faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. We will all miss her so very much. She is survived by her mother Alyce of Edmore, brothers Paul Haugen of Denver and David Haugen and his wife, Laurie of Edmore; nieces, Alysa(Tim) Tulibaski of Argyle,MN, Sarah Haugen of Scottsdale, AZ, Emily Haugen of Grand Forks, ND and nephew Chad( Kimberly) Haugen of Marshall, MN along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; brother Jim and grandparents.
