Irvin K. “Andy” Anderson, 85 of Devils Lake, formerly of the Esmond, ND passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Andy will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday. Irvin Kenneth Anderson was born on July 13, 1925 in Hesper, ND the son of Patrick and Mary (Hanson) Anderson. He was reared in the Esmond area and attended Isabel Consolidated School, rural Esmond. He was married to Delores Toso on April 3, 1947 at Oberon, ND. They had four children, Debra Kay was stillborn, Mark, Steven and Darren. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1979. Andy was united in marriage to Louise (Stein) Johnson on February 12, 1982 in Las Vegas. Louise passed away on June 16, 2002. Andy worked at Electrical Service for John Nyland and also worked for a time at the Eagles Club. He was owner and operator of Andy’s Appliance for many years. After retiring, Andy delivered Senior Meals in the McVille area. Andy was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing and having coffee with his many friends. He is survived by his sons, Steven Anderson and his wife, Sonia of Germany, Darren Anderson of Devils Lake and his daughter-in-law, Debbie Anderson of Edmore; six grandchildren, Beth Anderson, Chris (Jackie) Anderson, Alicia (Bert) Jordan, Shawn (Emily) Anderson, Melissa Anderson and Nicholas Anderson and a great grandson, Marcus Jordan and special friends, Ed and Mary Volk. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise; daughter Debra Kay; son, Mark who died in a car accident in 2001; brothers, Raymond Anderson and Russell Anderson; sister, Ruth.
