Traci Jean Schwab

Traci J. Schwab, 51 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 19, 2011 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake with her loving family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial for Traci will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Dale Kinzler celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be one hour prior to the funeral Mass in the church. Serving as Casket Bearers for Traci will be Travis Schwab, Jason Schwab, Scott Schwab, Timber Schwab, Duane Brandvold and Jon Becker. Reading the Scriptures will be Dennis Schwab. Gift Bearers will be Heather, April, Heidi and Sadie. Music will be provided by Kevin Regan and JoDee Lagein. Traci Jean, one of six children of Herman and Joyce (Walden) Schwab was born on September 25, 1959 in Langdon, ND. As an infant, she moved with the family to Devils Lake where she would live and work the rest of her life. She attended St. Mary’s Academy and graduated with the class of 1978. Traci, always a hard worker was never idle and worked for several different entities in Devils Lake including Mercy Hospital, K-Mart, Universal Parts, North Dakota School for the Deaf, Lake Region Corporation Gaming and most recently for Pugsley’s until health problems forced her to retire. She also cared for her parents and after her mother died, she spent extra time helping her Dad in his home. Traci loved to cook and bake, and of course family and friends were frequent recipients of her gourmet foods. She loved being with her family and watching nieces and nephews at play and interacting with each other. She was able to get to know each one individually and to love them unconditionally. Traci counted each member of her wonderful family and her many dear friends as true blessings from God. Traci, love of Duke’s life, beloved daughter and sister and loving aunt, our blessing from God, may you rest in His peace. Traci is survived by her fiancé Duke Winnegge and his daughter Marcee (Curt) Logie and Marcee and Curt’s son, Lance; her father Herman Schwab; brothers and sister Mark Schwab and his wife, Patty, Lori Schwab, Greg Schwab and his wife, Kaye, Scot Schwab and Dirk Schwab all of Devils Lake; nine nieces and nephews Heather and Travis; Jason and April; Scott, Timber and Heidi; Sadie and Andrew; eleven great nieces and great nephews, Carter, Camden, Caleb, Kaden and Alex; Bailey; Kayleigh, Aubrey, Camron, Taylor and Owen; many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Traci was preceded in death by her mother Joyce and her grandparents Olvin and Inga Walden and Sebastian and Eva Schwab.
