Clarence Lingor, 92 a former Devils Lake businessman passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at his home in Devils Lake in the loving care of his wife, family and Mercy Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial for Clarence will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Serving as Casket Bearers for Clarence will be: Robert Nosbusch, Tom Nosbusch, Kevin Nosbusch, Christopher Lingor, Stan Sigette, Roger Johnson, Tom Peterson and Julius Schafer. Reading the Scriptures will be Allan Nosbusch Gift Bearers will be Nicole Nosbusch and Becca Nosbusch. Clarence was born on December 17, 1918 at Garske, North Dakota, the son of Daniel “Dan” and Lena (Schafer) Lingor. He was reared and educated in the Lake Region area. Clarence was united in marriage to Jean Nyland on September 13, 1941 at Crown Point, Indiana. They established their home in Devils Lake where Clarence worked as a mechanic at the Ford Garage. During World War II, Clarence worked in the shipyards in Seattle, Washington returning to Devils Lake after the war ended. In 1961, Clarence became the owner and operator of Security Electric for over twenty years, retiring in 1980. Clarence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Eagles and Elks Lodges of Devils Lake. Clarence was also a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and was named to the North Dakota State Hall of Honor for Trap Shooting in 1988. In 1983 he was named Sportsman of the Year in Trap Shooting for North Dakota. Clarence and Jean enjoyed traveling the country to the many different Trap Shooting events and they also spent their winter months in Arizona for over 14 years. Clarence is survived by Jean his wife of 69 years; his daughter Colleen and her husband Allan Nosbusch of Bismarck, ND and his son John D. Lingor and his wife Elaine of Pittsburg, Kansas; grandchildren Robert (Karlyn) Nosbusch of Des Moines, Iowa, Tom (Nicole) Nosbusch of Bismarck, Kevin (Becca) Nosbusch also of Bismarck and Christopher Lingor of Kansas City, Kansas; six great grandchildren Alexis, Jake, Carter, Ashlyn, Dylan and McKenna; sisters Betty (Dick) Hoff of Lake Isabelle, California and Bertha Maletti of Los Angeles, California; Many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joseph, Adam and Julius Lingor and sisters Mary Ell, Kay Jorgenson and Eva Lee.
