Baby Travis was born on August 5, 2004 in Grand Forks, ND to loving mother, Mena Shaw. He grew up in St. Michael, ND. He attended Early Head Start at St. Michael and from there he went onto Four Winds Elementary School at Fort Totten. He loved going to school and learning new things. He was involved in 21st Century. At the time of his passing, he had just achieved graduating from the 1st Grade and would have been going on to the 2nd Grade.
We are and always were very proud of him. He had many “little buddies”. He was always happy to come home and share his stories with the family. Baby Trav also loved to eat hot Cheetos and Mom’s famous soup. He was two months premature. He was very small for his age, but he never let that bother him or let it stand in his way. He was small and fast. He loved to watch wrestling and was always in his room playing Toy Story on their Play Station. When he wasn’t playing his game or watching TV, he was outside playing with his buddies. He loved to go to the park and play basketball. Once in a while he would make a basket, but he never gave up trying. If he wasn’t with his buddies, he was always with his little brother.
Baby Trav was such an outgoing, courageous, funny, friendly and caring little 6 year old boy. Baby Trav and Destiny Jane were here for such a short time, but they left us with a lot of happy memories. Our babies will be deeply missed and loved with all of our hearts.
Baby Trav is survived by his loving mother Mena Shaw; brother Stephon Shaw; sisters Tamara (David) Feather, Tyra Shaw, Carina Chavelas, Thalia Chavelas, Angelica Chavelas and Horizon DuBois; uncles Mark Shaw Sr., Vincent (Jean) Shaw Jr., Julius “JW” Shaw and Shobie Shaw Sr.; aunts Meda Shaw Cavanaugh, Mary (Marlon) Shaw, Francine (Art) Green, Carrie St. Pierre, Berdine (Carlos) LittleGhost and Marcella Shaw; grandparents Vincent (Janice) Shaw Sr., Maxine LittleGhost-Peltier, Andrew Shaw, Ardis Shaw, Arlene Gomez, Pauline Greywater, LeRoy LittleGhost, Elaine Robertson, Helena LittleGhost, Libby LittleGhost, Jim Thompson and Janice (Carl) McKay; great grandmothers Lillian Shaw and Hermenia McKay.
