Dorrene Ellen Konzak

Dorrene Ellen Konzak passed on Saturday, May 21st, 2011 after a prolonged illness at Hospice of the Valley, Chandler, Arizona. She was 85 years old. Dorrene was born in Rock Lake, North Dakota on October 27, 1925. She was the daughter of William and Ethel (Rowe) Putman. Dorrene married Richard Konzak on July 24th, 1947 in Fargo, North Dakota. They were partners in farming, initially at Grand Harbor and then at Cavanaugh Lake for many years before retiring. She was active in many organizations including Farm Bureau, Homemakers, the American Association of University Women and the National Organization of Women. Dorrene was preceded in death by her husband Richard and son Charles. Surviving children include Douglas Konzak of Pewaukee ,Wisconsin, Diane Kuchera of Chandler, Arizona, Karen Tiradani of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, Sidney Whitehead of Florence, Alabama, Kim Konzak Jones of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Stacey Berg of Devils Lake, North Dakota. She had 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND on June 10th, 2011 at 10:00 am with Pastor David Fix officiating.
