Dwaine entered the United States Army on April 7, 1953 and served his country in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on February 9, 1955. He returned to North Dakota and in 1956 Dwaine began working for Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 1987 after 31 years of employment. Dwaine was united in marriage to Doris Beck on August 29, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. They lived for 2 years in Leeds, then moved to Church Ferry. In 2000 they moved to Devils Lake where they have made their home through the years. Faith, family, friends, the outdoors, service to country and anyone in need; that was Dwaine. He and Doris were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 54 years. As a couple they loved to dance and had even danced just a few days before Dwaine’s death. To say Dwaine was a gardener seems an understatement. He had two large vegetable gardens and always a yard full of beautiful flowers in any available space. He enjoyed walking and taking in the beauty of nature and the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Dwaine’s greatest love was his wife and family, spending time with the grandkids and great grandkids and visiting with neighbors and friends, sharing a cup of coffee, good conversation and the bounty of his gardens. Dwaine was a life member of the VFW and former member of the Eagles Lodge. Rest in God’s peace. We love you always. Dwaine is survived by his wife, Doris; children Louise and her husband Ron Hahn of Grand Forks, ND, Laurie and her husband Mike Rodriguez and Richard Rardon and his wife Charlotte all of Devils Lake; eight grandchildren Chelsea (Tyler) Crockett, Minot, Andrea Hahn and Corbyn Hahn, Grand Forks; Michael (Lisa) Rodriguez and Amber (Jason) Hunter all of Devils Lake; Kasey (Jesse) Eversvik, Lakota, Karey Rardon and Kodey Rardon also of Devils Lake; ten great grandchildren Caleb, Treavean, Cadynn, Mya, Mae, Jace, Karlyn, Trayson, Charles and Gabriella; brothers Von (Lavonne) Rardon, Great Falls, Montana, Clinton (Mary) Rardon, Lincoln, Nebraska; sisters Arlus Weston, Brookston, Indiana, Allura Schoephoerster, Lodi, Wisconsin, Colleen Brown, Marlow, Oklahoma, Linda Bacon, Spokane, Washington, Elaine (Tony) Villeburn, Great Falls and Alvina (Richard) Sullivan also of Great Falls.
