Teresa D. Greywind, 53 of Sheyenne, ND passed away at her home on Thursday, July 28, 2011 in the loving care of family and Mercy Hospice after a courageous battle against cancer.
Visitation will be held at First Lutheran Church in Sheyenne, ND on Monday, August 1, 2011 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service and Time of Remembrance at 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services for Teresa will be at the church on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Natasha Woitzel-Kolles will officiate and burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Sheyenne.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Teresa will be Jacob Gahner, Dean Gahner, Josh Gahner, Jamey Gahner, Joe Greywind Jr. and John Greywind Jr.
Honorary Bearers will be all of Teresa’s dear friends and beloved family.
Teresa Darlene was born on July 21, 1958 to Herbert and Donna (Docker) Gahner at Jamestown, ND. In 1965, Teresa moved with her parents to Fargo where she was raised and attended school.
In 1973, while living in Fargo, Teresa met Edward Greywind and they were united in marriage on April 9, 1975 at Jamestown, ND. They established their home in Fargo and Teresa worked for Minnkota Windows for several years. In 2004 they moved to Tokio and in 2010 the couple moved to Sheyenne, ND where they lived at the time of Teresa’s death. After moving to Sheyenne, Teresa worked for Sioux Manufacturing.
Teresa enjoyed doing word puzzles, going to pow-wows and the casino and especially visiting with friends anytime she had the chance. But time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren always brought a smile to her face and love to her heart.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; brother Robert Gahner; sister Wanda Gahner; two grandchildren and her grandparents.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 36 years Ed; sons John Greywind of Bismarck, Joe (Norberta) Greywind of Tokio and Shane Greywind also of Tokio; eleven grandchildren John Jr., Kelsey, Jastin, Rachel, Savanna, Joe Jr., Kayla, Casey, Jace, Rosalie and Alexis; siblings Gale Aakerson, Douglas (Sharla) Gohner, Pamela Braun and Conrad (Autumn) Gahner all of Fargo; nine nieces and nephews also survive.
