Shane E. Christenson, 43 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Saturday morning, August 6, 2011 at rural Munich from injuries sustained in a construction accident.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday, August 11th from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Jason Asselin will celebrate the Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers will be Terry Anvik, Bruce Johnson, Don Senger, Tracy Wren, Paul Poitra and Garry Hett.
Honorary Bearers will be Billy Herman and Dallas Charboneau.
Shane Edward, son of Lloyd and Marjorie (Schumacher) Christenson Jr. was born on August 21, 1967 at Devils Lake, ND where he was reared and educated, attending Devils Lake Public Schools. He spent his life in the construction business; building, roofing and carpentry. Most recently he worked for Kessler Construction of Anamoose, ND. Shane’s career was also a hobby for him, building, remodeling, constructing for himself and for family and friends.
Shane’s passion was his family and friends. He made every holiday special with decorations and a family get-together. He especially loved to decorate for Halloween and of course he always wore a costume and loved attending costume parties. For Shane, he looked for any excuse to be together with family and friends. He loved camping, grilling and the outdoors and of course that meant time with family and friends, times that brought him so much joy and happiness. He also enjoyed attending 80’s Rock concerts.
Shane was a man with a big heart and wanted to please everyone. Shane loved his family with all his heart and they loved him and he will be so greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Shane is survived by his wife Katie Christenson; children Shanea, Devin and Kaiden Christenson, and Mikey Plummer whom he and Katie raised all of Devils Lake, Tesla Christenson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jordon Olsen of Kindred, ND and Billy Schweitzer of Grand Forks, ND; mother Marjorie Christenson and special friend Glen Korb both of Devils Lake; brother Chad Christenson of Devils Lake and sister Natalie Christenson of Fargo, ND; step father Garry Hett, Devils Lake; nieces Kelsie, Abby, Shalan and Natasha; mother-in-law Judi Plummer of Devils Lake and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jenny and Craig Gjovik also of Devils Lake and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.
Shane was preceded in death by his father Lloyd; sister Andrea Christenson and his grandparents.
