David Allen, loving son of Morlin and Joyce (Haugen) Madson was born on September 29, 1958 at Devils Lake, ND. He grew up on the family farm at rural St. Michael and attended the Warwick Public School, graduating with the class of 1977. After graduating, David worked on the family farm with his Dad, Grandpa and Uncle. He worked for a number of years at Leonardo’s in Cando and later worked at Pugsley’s Sandwiches in Devils Lake. Most recently, David was employed at Wal-Mart.
David had several pastimes that were rather unique. He was a sports fanatic and he knew most any trivia about the national sports teams that was worth knowing. Of course he had a couple of favorite teams, including the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Yankees. He also was a Classic Movies and Classic Movie Stars buff; watching his favorites as often as he could and reading about his favorite movie stars. And then there was his overwhelming zeal for the Beatles. He collected every album, every book and any memorabilia he could find about the Beatles. He loved their music and their style.
Those were just pastimes however. David’s passions were his faith and his family. After suffering a severe stroke 3 years ago, David asked Jesus into his heart and this act of faith changed his whole life. He received a miraculous healing and new life in Jesus. When it came to family, you could not ask for a more loving, devoted and special son, brother and uncle. He treasured spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was an example of a hard working, good Christian man. He will be so greatly missed by his family and friends.
David is survived by his mother Joyce Madson-Bjerke of Devils Lake; sisters Debra Madson and Deanna Madson both of Devils Lake; nieces and nephews Jamie (David) Crouch, Jessie Madson, Eric Abrahamson, Aaron Abrahamson, Nathan Lien and Sarah Lien; aunt Alice Mapes and uncle Dale (Mary Lou) Haugen both from Montana; several cousins also survive.
David was preceded in death by his father, Morlin; grandparents; uncles Marvin Madson and Marlyn Madson.
