Albert H. Thompson, 53 of St. Michael, ND passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. A Wake will be held at the Gloria Alberts residence, rural St. Michael, ND on Friday, September 16, 2011 beginning at 5:00 p.m. The procession to the Alberts home will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Friday from the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort. Funeral Services for Albert will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Alberts home with burial and committal services at the Native American Church Cemetery, rural St. Michael, ND. Albert H. Thompson Born into life March 3rd, 1958 At his home in St. Michael North Dakota Born into Eternity September 9th, 2011 At Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Officiating will be Zachary Thompson Music by Native American Church Singers. Local drum groups and anyone is welcome to come and sing. All Native American Church members, friends and relatives in the four directions. Albert’s journey of life on Mother Earth begin March 3, 1958 at his home in St. Michael, North Dakota. He was born to Melvin Feather Sr. and Veronica Thompson-DeMarce. He attended Little flower mission school in St. Michael and then later went to school in Fort Totten. He also attended school in Pierre, South Dakota. He later received his GED and recently graduated with a degree in Carpentry from the Little Hoop Community College. It was an achievement he was very proud of. Albert worked at DTI and Sioux Manufacturing Corp. His favorite past times included making Native American Church instruments, beading, drawing, and singing. He loved children especially his nieces, nephews and Grandchildren. He loved to play video games with his grandchildren. He was a teacher of the traditional ways. He would teach anyone who was willing to listen. As much as he was willing to teach, he was just as willing to learn. He was knowledgeable in the ways of the Sweat Lodge and Native American Church. He was a very spiritual man. He was a life long member and a strong believer in the Native American Church. He was a good Road Man, Drum Chief, Cedar Chief and Fire Chief in the Native American Church. Albert was a very beautiful singer and sang songs from the Native American Church. Albert was very loving, caring and thoughtful. He was a very special brother, uncle, grandpa, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who held him close. We would like to thank all those who supported us through this difficult time. God Bless you all. His memory will be cherished in the hearts of his loving family. Many adopted brothers and sisters through the Native American Church. Preceded in death by his parents Melvin Feather Sr. and Veronica Thompson-DeMarce. Brothers Leonard DeMarce, Francis Feather, Freeman Brown, and Phillip Feather Sisters Elaine DeMarce and Linda Feather Uncle Ambrose Thompson Sr. Nephew Alvin Brown Sr. Laid to rest in the Native American Church Cemetery in St Michael, North Dakota.
