HAROLD SAMUEL JOHNSON

Harold S. Johnson, 83 a lifelong resident of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Harold will be held at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Jeff Nicla will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Harold will be Lawrence Johnson, Jerry A. Johnson, Gerald Johnson, Lynn Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson. Music will be provided by Rev. Jeff Nicla. Harold was born in Devils Lake to Andrew and Harriet (Newhouse) Johnson on April 7, 1928. Harold worked at Mercy Hospital in the Laundry Department from age 16 to 62 when he retired. He was always a hard worker and took pride in his work. Harold loved to travel and family was a very special part of his life. Harold is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Lawrence and Irene Johnson of Devils Lake; nephew Jerry Johnson and his wife Kara of Devils Lake and grand nephew Jeremiah Johnson of Grand Forks; his nephew Jim’ wife Paula and grand nephews Daniel and Michael Johnson and grand niece Alisha Johnson all of Claremont, California; many cousins also survive. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and nephew James L. Johnson.
