Ermen Bennet Brown, son of Allen and Alida (Anderson) Brown was born on October 8, 1939 at home in Esmond, ND. He was reared and educated in the Esmond area. He worked for area farmers and later worked building the missile silos near Nekoma, ND. He also worked at Armor’s Truck Stop in Devils Lake, then drove semi for grain hauling trips to Duluth, MN before he began his 30 year career as a delivery driver and yard man with Concrete Sectional Culvert Company, retiring in 2003.
Ermen was united in marriage to Carol Jean Ironheart on December 6, 1963 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. They established their home in Woodlake area for 11 years before moving to the St. Michael area: living, working and raising their family during their 47 years of marriage.
Ermen worked hard to provide for his family. He and Carol Jean opened their hearts and doors to many foster children throughout the years. Fortunately, Ermen was a ‘home’ mechanic and could fix anything from a semi to a toy truck. When he had the time, Ermen enjoyed league bowling, playing cards and Bingo at the Casino. It was always a good way to get together with friends and family.
Ermen is survived by his loving wife, Carol Jean; beloved children, Ermen Brown Jr. and his wife Lori of St. Michael ND, Craig Brown and his wife Punky of Tokio ND, Carol J.
