DENNIS ARTHUR KENNER

Dennis A. Kenner, 63 of Warwick ND passed away at his home on Monday, November 14, 2011. Funeral Services for Dennis will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake ND on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brandon Wegener officiating. Visitation for Dennis will be at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Burial will be in the Native American Church Cemetery, rural St. Michael ND. Serving as Casket Bearers for Dennis will be Larry Weed, Elton DeMarce, Jay Joramo Jr. Gerald Counts, Bobby Skaro and Chris Anderson. Music will be provided by Russell and Lynda Pearson. Dennis Arthur was born on May 20, 1948 at Devils Lake, ND to Arthur D. and Esther (Soma) Kenner. He grew up and was educated in Devils Lake. Dennis was employed as a heavy equipment operator with several road construction firms and most recently had worked for Close Construction. Dennis was forced to retire due to health problems. Dennis was at one time married to Elaine DeMarce. Dennis truly enjoyed his work. He loved operating construction equipment and then experiencing the reward of a good road for us all to drive on. He enjoyed trail rides and always encouraged and supported his daughter Shannon’s love of horses. Dennis enjoyed hunting and trapping with his son Kory. Dennis loved being a “Grandpa” and spending time with his grandson Aiden. Dennis is survived by his children, daughter Shannon Kenner of Warwick ND, sons Dennis Schall of Devils Lake and Kory (Daisy) Kenner of Minot and daughter Tara Kenner also of Minot; step-son Elton DeMarce of St. Michael ND; grandchildren Aiden Kenner and Kylee and Kobe Kenner; sister Carol (Larry) Knudtson of Bismarck ND; aunts and uncle Olive Johnson and Helen and Bob Weed all of Devils Lake; special family friends Fern Beaver and Rhonda Allery also of Devils Lake; several nieces and nephews also survive. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and ex-wife Elaine.
