MARNIE RAE HEUSTIS

Marnie Rae Heustis, 39 of Devils Lake ND passed away late Saturday evening, November 26, 2011 at Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo ND. Funeral Services for Marnie will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Jamie Desai will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 pm. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Marnie will be Kevin Birkeland, Robert Hendrickson, Garrett Baker, Dusty VanThuyne, Braden Heustis and Christopher Heustis. Music will be provided by Karen Braaten. Marnie Rae was born on December 8, 1971 at Grand Forks ND the daughter of Lee and Sharon (Braaten) Eaves. As a young girl, she moved with the family to many states including, California, Ohio, Louisiana and North Dakota. Marnie graduated from Cando High School with the class of 1990. She moved to Fargo and attended Moorhead State University. Marnie was united in marriage to John Heustis and they established their home in Devils Lake and later moved to Fort Collins CO. Eventually Marnie and the family returned to North Dakota and Marnie and her sons made their home in Devils Lake. Marnie worked for several years at the Citizens Community Credit Union and most recently at St. Michel Furniture. Marnie was a devoted, loving mother and dedicated her life to caring and providing for her sons. She loved life and had an infectious smile that wasn’t only seen but felt in your heart. We can’t imagine life without her, but we will cherish the memories she left us in our hearts forever. Marnie will be greatly missed by her dear family and many friends. She is survived by her sons Bryce Heustis attending NDSU in Fargo ND, Dylan Heustis and Carsyn Heustis at home in Devils Lake; parents Lee Eaves of Thornton CO and Sharon Eaves of Cando ND; sisters Karma and her husband Brooke Cose of Fargo and Jennifer Eaves of Frederick CO; nieces and nephews Christopher, Ashlee, Brady, Aidan and Emily; grandmother Cleo Braaten of Grand Forks ND. Marnie was preceded in death by her grandparents Lee and Avis Eaves and niece Paige Cose.
