Eileen L. Zettler, 94 of Devils Lake formerly of Webster, ND died on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Asselin will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery rural Webster, ND. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday from 300 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Serving as Casket Bearers for Eileen will be her grandsons Rodney Sparks, Jeff Sparks, Paul Durbin, Seth Durbin, Phil Wilhelmi and Alex Wilhelmi. Honorary Bearers are all of Eileen’s grandchildren. Reading the Scriptures will be Tim Durbin and Jerry Wilhelmi and Gift Bearers will be all of Eileen’s great grandchildren. A special tribute to Eileen will be given by Tim Durbin. Music will be provided by Lydia Chartre’ and JoDee Lagein. Eileen, daughter of Melvin and Lydia (Hanson) Rye was born on June 16, 1917 at Viking, Minnesota. The family moved to the Edmore area where Eileen attended grade school and then attended Starkweather High School. Eileen was united in marriage to Raymond T. Zettler on October 12, 1937 at Starkweather. They made their home in Webster and Eileen was the owner and operator of the Webster Coffee Shop, retiring in 1978. In 1979, Eileen and Raymond moved to Devils Lake, living there until 1991 when they moved to Fargo. Raymond died on December 31, 1991. Eileen continued to make Fargo her home until moving back to Devils Lake in 1992. Eileen was a long time member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church while living in Webster and after moving to Devils Lake she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Eileen was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Eileen enjoyed cooking and sharing her delicious creations with her family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing and other types of needlework. Eileen is survived by her five beloved children Curtis Zettler and his wife Gail of Oxnard, California, Joan and her husband Warren Hogenson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Peggy and her husband Larry Sparks of Chisago City, Minnesota, Susan and her husband Tim Durbin of West Fargo, ND and Gail and her husband Jerry Wilhelmi of Columbus, Ohio; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a niece Verna Kuntz of Webster, ND. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond and two sisters.
