David Lynn, son of Lynn and Florence (Mosolf) Rham was born on August 21, 1954 in Langdon, ND. The family made their home in Rock Lake for several years then moved to Devils Lake which was their home through the years. He attended grade school in Devils Lake and graduated from Devils Lake Central High School with the class of 1972. David then attended Lake Region State College and graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree in Business in 1974.
David was united in marriage to Cindy Anderson of Crary in November of 1975 at Doyon, ND. They established their home in Devils Lake where they lived, worked and raised their family. David worked at Ron’s Standard part-time for many years along with his full time job at Home of Economy for nearly 40 years until health problems forced retirement. He was a hard working, dedicated employee with a faithful following of customers who knew David could take them from one end of the store to the other and assist them with all their needs. That unique knack came from his ability as a jack of all trades. He could figure out mechanical problems, plumbing or electrical problems, dabble in carpentry and remodeling, he would give anything a try. He was a perfectionist and workaholic and if he could be of help to someone, he never said no.
When David wasn’t working he loved the outdoors, hunting, both gun and bow hunting; fishing, both summer and winter fishing and these were hobbies that he enjoyed with his family. In his younger years he played softball and was part of a State Championship Softball Team.
As his family, we hoped for David to be with us into old age, but we will now keep him in our hearts and memories forever.
David is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; his son, Nathan Rham of Hillsboro and family friend Terri Borgen; his daughter, Nicole and her husband Jacob Erickson of Wahpeton, ND; grandchildren Cora Lea Erickson and Jacob Erickson Jr; his mother, Florence Rham of Devils Lake; sister Marlene and her husband Wade Christianson and grandmother Mary Mosolf MacArthur all of Devils Lake; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barbara Janzen, Devils Lake, Gilman (Peggy) Anderson, Alexander, ND, Karen (Leo) Setter, Fargo, ND, Conrad (Barb) Anderson, Waite Park, MN, Lili (Todd) Trangsrud, Williston, ND and Ethel (Richard) Kresse, Alice, ND; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousin.
