Danyell Faye Littlewind, “Mato Win” (Bear Woman) 39 of Fort Totten, ND passed away on Friday, March 16th, 2012 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. The Wake for Danyell will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Friday, March 23rd, 2012 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to the Recreation Center will leave on Friday at 4:00 p.m. from Wal-Mart. Funeral Services will also be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Charles Leute OP officiating. Danyell will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Michael, ND. About Mom Danyell Faye (Cavanaugh) Littlewind, loving daughter of the late Pamela Rose Greywater and Daniel George Cavanaugh, Jr., was born on November 25th, 1972, at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, North Dakota. She’s the loving mother of nine children Chanelle, Donalda, Rochelle, Shanda, Danelle, Hallee, Harlee, Harlan, Jr., and Pamela Littlewind. She attended school at Fort Totten and Four Winds where she enjoyed playing basketball and was a cheerleader. She had great pride representing the people at the Fort Totten Days Powwow as the Junior Princess in 1984. She enjoyed going to powwows and dancing fancy shawl. She met the love of her life in 1986, Harlan Littlewind, they made their home in Fort Totten. She got her G.E.D. in 1994 and went to Little Hoop Community College. She worked at the Spirit Lake Casino for many years. She enjoyed going to all the sporting events, gambling, and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren Chyanne, Baby Danny, Logan, and Ethan Charboneau. Danyell was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to share stories and make everyone around her laugh. She cherished all the time she got to spend with her mother. She will forever be in our hearts and greatly missed by all who knew her.
