ROBERTA LEE BELL

Roberta Lee Bell, 56 of Devils Lake began her journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012. Visitation for Roberta will be held on Sunday, April 15th beginning at 5:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. from Wal-Mart. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Moen celebrating the Mass. Roberta will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Serving as Pall Bearers for Roberta will be Charles Morin, Evan Hill, Eddie Green, Roger Baker, Lynn McKay, Terry Dunn Jr. Saeed Nasher and Coby RedDay. Honorary Bearers will be Pam Baker, Bonnie Bull, Virgil Running Bear, Lynissa Bull, Jessie “Pillows” Gillam, Robbie McKay, Connie Baker, Kenny Baker Sr., D.J. Yali, Donna White Buffalo, Janelle Charboneau, Sonya Bull, Tammie and Brent Putnam, Sandra Miller, Tiffany Foss, Dacia Lamrose, Debbie Morin and dear aunts, Betty Morin, Gloria Jetty, Beatrice Abrahamson, Marie Baker and Vivian Jetty and all of Roberta’s beloved cousins, relatives and friends. Roberta Lee was born on August 9, 1955, the daughter of Doris Jetty. She was raised and received her early education at St. Michael then attended school in Grand Forks, ND. For a time, Roberta was with her father Preston Bell in Washington State. She then lived with her mother and her brothers Kim Morin and Carl Morin in Montana. The family returned to North Dakota and they were blessed with another brother Lloyd Sund. Roberta decided she was old enough to try it on her own and began to seek her own adventures. Roberta and her daughter, Stephanie met Virgil Running Bear in 1974 and in 1975 Roberta and Virgil were married. To this marriage were born Raymond, Yana, Nicholas and Joel. Roberta and Virgil parted ways and Roberta moved back to Devils Lake where she continued to raise her children including her two youngest, Doris and Skye. Roberta worked with the After School Program at Minnie H School for several years. Roberta was very proud of all of her children and so dearly loved her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was always willing to learn, give and share. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and her family and friends and her aunts, Betty, Gloria, Beatrice, Marie and Vivian. To the people we missed, please accept our apologies, it was not intentional. Roberta is survived by her loving family. Her children Stephanie (Mohammed) Al Haddali, of Henderson, North Carolina, Raymond (Misty Blu) Running Bear of Bismarck, ND, Nicholas (Jess) Running Bear, Bismarck, Joel (Codi) Running Bear also of Bismarck, Doris (Rashad) Jerome also of Henderson and Skye (Miranda) Bell of Devils Lake; sixteen beloved grandchildren; brothers Carl “Quick” Morin of Devils Lake and Lloyd “Sonny” Sund of Finley, ND and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her daughter Yana Running Bear; mother Doris; brother Kim Morin; grandparents Ambrose and Frances Jetty and uncle David Jetty.
