Neil A. Greywater, “Mato Nazin” (Standing Bear) 35 of St. Michael, ND passed away early Friday morning, April 13, 2012 from a car accident at rural St. Michael. A Wake for Neil will be held at the St. Michael’s Recreation Center on Thursday, April 19, 2012 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday from Wal-Mart. Funeral Services for Neil will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. John Leslie Cavanaugh and Fr. Brian Moen concelebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Neil Alexander Greywater, the loving son of Delemma Greywater and James Baker was born February 9, 1977 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake, ND. Neil attended Tate Topa Tribal School, Four Winds High School and had perfect attendance until the 10th grade. Neil worked at HIP and SMC for a short time. Earlier in Neil’s life he met Amanda Jackson and they had one son, Christian. Neil later met Melissa Littlewind and they had a son, D’Angelo. Recently Neil met the love of his life, Nicole Eagle and he took her kids as his own. Neil would go hunting, fishing and have cookouts with his boys, Krista and his buddies. Neil was never one to turn down a chance to go out and be with his friends or lend a helping hand. Neil loved to make his famous chili and went to the grave with his recipe. Everyone knew Neil for impromptu karaoke and his stuuuff. Neil enjoyed being with his many friends sharing countless crazy moments and pulling pranks on each other. Neil will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him but will remain in our hearts and memories forever. Neil is survived by his loving family. His parents Delemma Greywater and James (Jackie) Baker; special Friend Nicole Eagle; children Christian Greywater, D’Angelo Littlewind and adopted daughter Krista Baker and adopted son Randall Baker; brothers Donnie (Betty) Smith, Sheldon Greywater, Wayne Greywater and James R. Baker; sisters Elisa Greywater, Robin (Paul) Lawrence, Juanita Baker and Lyness (James) Bull; special aunt and uncle and God parents James and Renae Lenoir; special nephew D’Wayne “Butter Bean” Greywater; uncles and aunts Bob Greywater, Knute and Bev Graywater, Chuck and Mary Jo Greywater, Verol Greywater, Brenda Robertson, Barbara Robertson, Bev Labelle, Dean and Sonta Dauphinais and Maynard and Della Bull. Neil was preceded in death by his brother Delvin Greywater; grandparents Alex Greywater Sr., Jerry and Elizabeth Robertson, Charles and Josephine Black; uncles Alex Greyater Jr., Richard Greywater Sr. and Mike Greywater Jr.; aunts Pamela Greywater and Diane Woods; special cousin Bobbi Greywater; cousins Duane McDonald, Troy Woods, Christopher J. Cavanaugh Sr., Paul Thompson, Terry Hook, Danyell F. Cavanaugh, Pat Hook, Heidi Jo Anderson, Amy Anderson and Alex “Zeke” Greywater.
