Claudette R. Williams, “ Sina Yusdohan Mani” (Drags her shawl when she walks) 47 of Fort Totten, ND; our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin passed onto the Spirit World on Friday morning, April 20, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake with her family and friends by her side. The Wake for our beloved Claudette will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 beginning at 5:00 pm. with the Rosary and Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday from the Spirit Lake Marina. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten with Fr. Charles Leute OP celebrating the Mass. Claudette will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Michael, ND. All Drum Groups are welcome to come and share their songs with Claudette’s family. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers for Claudette will be: Helena Littleghost and family, Elizabeth Littleghost and family, Elaine Robertson and family, Tony and Vina McDonald, Donald Belgarde Sr., Georgeline “Cissy” McKay, Sylvia “Bitsy” SpottedHorse and family, Vicky Hill and family, Teresa BlackLance and family, Melody Hill and family, Lori Thomas, Bonnie Leftbear and family, Christine Alex, Sally Alberts, Candice Smith, Eunice Whiteman, Bonnie and Greyden Bear and family, Marva Tollefson and family, Dalton Green, Louie WhiteTail and family, Brian WhiteTail, Lisa Lockwood, Sharon and Myron SpottedHorse, Mona Leftbear and family, Father Chuck and the Good Samaritan Staff. Active Pallbearers: Joseph Cavanaugh Sr., Joseph Cavanaugh Jr., Darnell Greywater Sr., Milo WhiteTail, Jared WhiteTail, Richard WhiteTail, Dana Lohnes, Ryan Herman, Chanze Herman and David Sherman Sr. Claudette Rose was born on September 16, 1964 at Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Dorothy (Dunn) and Byron WhiteTail. She was raised and educated in the Fort Totten area, attending grade school at Fort Totten School, Wahpeton Indian School and Pierre Learning Center. She attended high school in Fort Totten. Claudette later completed her GED at Little Hoop Community College. Claudette held various jobs throughout her life including working at Dakota Tribal Industries and Sioux Manufacturing, had her own Day Care, employed at Spirit Lake Casino and Resort as a cashier and also a vault banker and most recently at Heartland Care Center. Claudette was united in marriage to the love of her life, Reuben Williams on November 14, 1980 at Fort Totten, where they made their home through the years. Claudette was a loving and caring person, always looking out for family and friends. She enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, family and friends. Some of her hobbies were doing puzzles, arts and crafts, reading, making Star Quilts and going on road trips. She loved to cook, bake and plant trees and flowers. Claudette is survived by her husband of 31 years, Reuben Williams. Her five children, Byron Williams, Felicia (Elton) Greywater, Cara (Joseph Sr.) Cavanaugh, Sharmaine Williams and Darlene Williams and adopted daughter Ashley McKay all of Fort Totten; grandchildren Darnell, Harmony, Elton Jr., and Dylan Greywater, Joseph Jr., Kaeleigh and Carly Cavanaugh and Sade and Kiemaria McKay also all of Fort Totten; sisters Catalina (Terry) Herman, Cora (Robert) Whiteman, Emrolyn (Nathaniel) WhiteTail, Donna WhiteTail and Rose (David) Sherman all of Fort Totten and Felicia “Tiny” Reed of Williston, ND and adopted sister Dovita (Steven) Cavanaugh; brothers Milo Blaine WhiteTail of Leavenworth, Kansas, Quentin Bruce Whiteman of Fort Totten and John Whiteman also of Fort Totten; grandmother Pearle Reed of NewTown, ND; aunts Twila Reed also of NewTown and Sheila Thompson and Lulu Thompson both of St. Michael, ND; uncles Kenneth (Florestine) Dunn of St. Michael, Frank Reed, Gerald Reed, Eldon Reed and Elton Reed all of NewTown and Alfred Thompson and Michael “Bugs” Thompson of St. Michael and many nieces and nephews. Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Byron WhiteTail; maternal and paternal grandparents; aunts, Emma Dunn-Mallard, Florence Rita Dunn-WhiteTail, Vivian Dunn-SpottedHorse, Angeline Dunn-Alberts and Caroline Dunn-Whiteman; uncles, John Ross, David WhiteTail Sr., Sanford WhiteTail Sr. and Faye Arnold-WhiteTail Sr.; sister, Dana Lee WhiteTail; nephew, Darrick Redtomahawk Jr.; nieces, Jami Jetty and Dalora WhiteTail; grandson Walking Wind Greywater and adopted sister Roxanne Herald.
