Anna G. Darulis, 96 of Devils Lake formerly of Grand Harbor Township area of North Dakota passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Anna will be held on at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 noon until time of service. Burial will be in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery, rural Devils Lake. Pastor Rachel Johnson will officiate.
Anna, the daughter of Oleus and Thea (Oium) Krokum was born on April 28, 1915 at Devils Lake, ND. Anna would make the Devils Lake area her home her entire life. She was reared and educated in Grand Harbor Township attending a country school.
Anna was united in marriage to Victor C. Darulis on December 18, 1938 at Devils Lake. In 1940 they began farming in Pelican Township, rural Churchs Ferry. They moved to Grand Harbor Township, west of Devils Lake in 1950 after retiring from farming. In 2003, Anna moved to Lake Country Manor and at the time of her death she was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
Anna was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed all needlework crafts, such as sewing, crocheting, quilting and embroidery. Of course she so generously shared her precious creations with family and friends. She was blessed to be able to continue needlework into her 90’s. After moving to the Good Samaritan Center, she enjoyed the many activities offered and especially enjoyed playing Bingo.
Anna is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Bakke of Thief River Falls, MN and her sons Victor Darulis of Devils Lake and Dennis Darulis and his wife Ramona of Raub, ND; three grandchildren Shelley (Mike) Nyland, Ken Bakke all of Thief River Falls and Dennie (Lori) Darulis of Minot, ND; five great grandchildren Tauscha Nyland and Kia (Jason) Naeseth, Thief River Falls and Patrick Darulis, Levi Darulis and Zane Darulis all of Minot; four great great grandchildren Kiana, Makaya, Davin and Shayla; sister Thelma Thompson of Minnewaukan, ND and several nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Victor on June 20, 1966; son-in-law Robert Bakke; brothers Marvin Krokum, Lawrence Krokum and Orville Krokum in infancy and sister Ethel Specht.
