Roxann A. Young, 40 of Fort Totten, ND passed away on Monday morning, May 7, 2012 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
A Wake for Roxann will be held at the Crow Hill Recreation Center, rural Fort Totten on Friday, May 11, 2012 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Deacon Tony McDonald will lead the Prayer Service and Tony and Vina McDonald will provide music along with the Spirit Lake Singers and all other drums are welcome to come and share their music.
The procession to Crow Hill will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Friday from Wal-Mart.
The Funeral Service for Roxann will be at the Recreation Center on Saturday, May 12th at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Charles Leute OP officiating and she will be laid to rest at St. Thomas Episcopal Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
Serving as Active Pall Bearers for Roxann will be William DeMarce, Darcy Longie, Justin Hook, Marshall J. Longie, Ken DeMarce, Anthony Longie, Chris Nelson Jr. and Marshall P. Longie Jr.

Roxann Alvina Young was born on October 17, 1971 at Devils Lake, ND to Janice (Dubois) and Phillip John Young. She was raised in the Crowhill-Fort Totten area. Roxann attended Box Elder Job Corp in Nemo, South Dakota where she completed her GED.
Roxann later gave birth to her first daughter, Leslie Ann Young. Roxann then completed the carpentry program at Candeska Cikana Community College in Fort Totten. Shortly after, she gave birth to her second daughter Chelsea Rose Young. Roxann eventually moved to Devils Lake where she gave birth to her last daughter, Sarah Lynn Young.
Roxann was united in marriage to Terrance “Terry” Hook in Crookston, Minnesota in July of 1995.
Roxann was employed in various departments with the Spirit Lake Tribe in addition to working at Dakotah Tribal Industries.
Roxann enjoyed having cook-outs, visiting with friends and family and also traveling. She was so excited at the birth of her first grandson, Caleb Jace and she never missed an opportunity to babysit for him.
Roxann is survived by her daughters, Leslie Ann, Chelsea Rose and Sarah Lynn Young all of Fort Totten; her grandson, Caleb Jace; mothers, Janice Dubois of Devils Lake and April St. Pierre of Crowhill; brothers, David John (Diane) Young of California, Michael Erickson of Minot, ND, Douglas Dubois, Scott Hurd and Gary Hurd; sisters, Rose Mary (Eric) Panganiban of California, Tamara (Denver) Littlewind of Crowhill, Amy Belgarde of Fort Totten, Jolene Dubois of Minnesota; special nephew, Jason Rivera of Devils Lake; adopted sisters Dorothy Lambert and Doveta Cavanaugh and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Roxann was preceded in death by her father, Phillip John Young; her husband, Terry Hook in 1996; special aunt, Marcie McKay; sister, Angel Rivera; grandmothers, Mercie Nelson and Mary Dubois; grandfathers Martin Young and Benjamin Dubois and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
