Mary T. Kuntz, 76 of Devils Lake, formerly of Crary, ND died Saturday, May 26th, 2012 at The Good Samaritan Center in the care of her family and Mercy Hospice.
Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Devils Lake on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. The Catholic Daughters will lead the rosary service. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers will be Mary’s Grandsons, Chris Ulness, Joshua (Jessica) Haugen, Jeremy (Amanda) Haugen, Preston Eickenbrock, Brock Hoime and Tyler Carroll.
Honorary Bearers will be Mary’s other Grandchildren, Candace (Chris) Wilson, Jessica (Shawn) Weltikol, Carrie Ulness, Dillon Carroll, Braydi Hoime, Nathan Carroll and her Great Grandchildren, David Kingsley, Liberty Haugen, Alexandria Haugen, Hunter Spah, Samantha Eversvik, Izibelle Haugen, Mason Haugen, Jayden Wilson and Ethan Haugen.
Reading the Scriptures will be Jessica Weltikol and Bridget Kraft. Gift Bearers will be Dillon Carroll, Braydi Hoime and Nathan Carroll. Music will be provided by JoDee Lagein and Eucharistic Minister will be Mike Kraft.
Mary Theresa Kraft, the daughter of John and Alysia (Sander) Kraft was born on June 9, 1935 in St. Michael, North Dakota. She lived and attended school in St. Michael.
Mary was united in marriage to Lawrence Kuntz on April 13, 1953. They established their home on a farm near Mylo, ND. In 1958 they moved to rural Crary where they farmed until 1976 when they moved into the town of Crary. Lawrence passed away on November 20, 1996. Mary was a farm wife for many years. She also did some babysitting and housecleaning for area neighbors. Mary was a cook at Mercy Hospital then Odd Fellows Home until health reasons forced her to retire.
Mary’s faith was very important to her. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake. She was active in Christian Mothers, Homemakers and Catholic Daughters.
Mary loved cooking, tending to her flowers, collecting angel figurines and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her sister Ann (Fred) Bingham; brothers Joe (Cece) Kraft, Peter Kraft Sr., Emil Kraft, John Kraft, Mike (Kathy) Kraft all of Devils Lake and Louie (Phyllis) Kraft of St. Michael and her precious children, Beatrice (Lauri) Haugen, Crary, ND, Donald Kuntz, Lakota, ND, Arlene (Corb) Ulness, Grand Forks, ND, Agnes (Tim) Regan, Maple Grove, MN, Brenda (Brad) Hoime, Devils Lake, ND, Nancy (Allen) Eickenbrock, Fargo, ND, Kevin Kuntz, Crary, ND and Mary Jo (David) Carroll, Colorado Springs, CO; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and Lawrence’s brothers and sister.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; brothers, Frank, Sebastian and Anton “Tony” Kraft and sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Matthews.
