BRENT ROBERT BORGEN

Brent R. “Bubba” Borgen, 24 of Devils Lake, ND passed to the Spirit World on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at his home. Funeral Services for Brent will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Jamie Desai officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Michael, ND at a later date. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Time of Remembrance at 7:00 p.m. Honorary Bearers will be all of Brent’s dear friends. Family requests memorials for continued medical expenses be directed to Brent Borgen Fund at 309 15th Street NE, Devils Lake, North Dakota 58301. Brent Robert, son of Dennis and Jodie (Larson) Borgen was born on February 3, 1988 at Coupeville, Washington where he lived until age three when the family moved to Fallon, Nevada. Here, Brent attended school and was very active in Sea Cadets, AWANAS and was the recipient of the Purple Belt in Karate. In 1999, the family moved to North Dakota and made their home in Devils Lake. Brent attended Central Middle School and Devils Lake High School. He received his GED from Cankdeska Cikana Community College at Fort Totten and then attended MSU-Bottineau. Brent worked at various jobs in the area including Strata Concrete and most recently with Brandon Mattern Company. In his off time, Brent enjoyed hunting with family and friends and “frolfing” (Frisbee golf). Brent especially loved music and playing his guitars and drums. Brent’s most joyous times were spent at family gatherings and being with his significant other, Kodey Rardon and her son Trayson Touche walking in the park and just being together. Brent is survived by his loving family. His parents Jodie and Dennis of Devils Lake; sister Terri Borgen and significant other, Nathan Rham also of Devils Lake; “adopted brother” Jason Joshua; “grandma” Shirley McCloud; aunts and uncles Linda and Wayne Fee, Brad and Jeri Larson, Bob Bye, Ramona and Bill Smythe, Claudette Larson, Loren Larson and Farin Liggett all of Devils Lake, Rick and Lori Larson of Larimore, Sharon Larson of Oberon, ND, Sally and John Walker of Manhattan, Kansas, Shirley Svenby of Fargo, ND, Paul Langemo of Jamestown, ND and Alfred Herman, Devils Lake and many many cousins. Brent’s grandparents Marble and Mable Borgen, Edward and Adeline Larson and aunts and uncles Joyce Bye, Mark Larson, Floyd Svenby, Alice and Richard Heley, Norma Langemo, Doris and Bill Rupe, Judith and Orlan Johnson, Patty and Duane Kowalski, Robert Borgen and Donald Borgen and cousin Erin Bye preceded him in death.
