Ordelle L. “Kada” Guy, 64 of Tokio, ND passed away on Wednesday morning, May 30, 2012 at her home in Tokio. Ordelle was blessed to be home in the care of her family and the nurses of Mercy Hospice which the family is so very thankful for.
The Wake for Kada will be at the Tokio Wellness Center, Tokio on Thursday, June 7th beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to Tokio will leave on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. from Wal-Mart.
Mass of Christian Burial for Ordelle will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 12:00 noon at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND with Fr. Charles Leute OP celebrating the Mass. Kada will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.
Ordelle Louise was born on August 7, 1947 at Devils Lake, ND the daughter of Gideon and Alice (Waanatan) Guy. Her descendents go back to Chief Waanatan.
Ordelle attended Little Flower School in St. Michael and also the Wahpeton Indian School for a time. Kada made her home in Tokio, ND where she raised her family. She also worked in area schools.
Kada liked watching TV (her favorite stations were LMN and the cooking channel). She liked to go to rummage sales, loved to cook and bake and always enjoyed going to the casino with family and friends. Kada especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. But her generous heart extended to other family and friends and she opened her home to anyone who needed her.
Kada is survived by her loving family. Her daughter, Debbie (Russell) Guy; son Terrance Guy; special grandson Eldwin Dean Guy; Gina Brown and special great grandson Brayden John Leftbear both whom she raised; grandchildren Rochelle Alice Guy, Terrance Lee Paul, Denise Faye Paul, Donovan Ray Paul, Amber Louise Gourd, Dana Leigh Guy and Crystal Blueshield; great grandkids Trudelle Martin Leftbear, Tayvonne Louise Paul, Devin Lee Paul and Jasmine Marie Green; nieces and nephews Tammy Greywater, Mary Ann (Bobby) Brown, Glen Rue Jr. and Harlan Blueshield and special cousin Victor Peoples.
Ordelle was welcomed home by her loving family. Her parents Gideon and Alice (Waanatan) Guy; brothers Ronald Guy and LaVern McKay; grandsons Gideon and Edison Guy; cousins Donna Guy, Rose Guy, Madeline Guy, Vincent Peoples, Eugene Peoples, Wilfred Peoples and Melvin Peoples; aunts Virginia Peoples, Angeline LaCroix, Mae (Gourd) Whiteman and Virginia Vaulters; uncles Felix WhiteShield, Peter Belgarde Sr. and Israel Gourd and great grandparents Louisa and Suna Waanatan.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Kada will be Eldwin Guy, Terrance Paul, Herbert Blueshield III, John Guy Sr., Joseph LaCroix and Shane Guy.
