ERNESTINE ELIZABETH JEANOTTE

After a long and courageous struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, Ernestine E. Schindler-Jeanotte, of Belcourt and Devils Lake, ND entered her heavenly home on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford with loving family at her bedside. Mass of Christian Burial for Ernestine will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND. Fr. Scott Giuliani, SOLT will celebrate the Mass and Ernestine will be laid to rest beside her husband, Louis in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary and Scripture Service for Ernestine will be held at the Queen of Peace Chapel also in Belcourt on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Ernestine Elizabeth, daughter of William and Margaret (Martin) Schindler was born on October 3, 1926 at Belcourt, ND where she was raised and educated. Ernestine was united in marriage to Louis R. Jeanotte on August 22, 1946 at Belcourt, ND. They established their home in the Belcourt/Rolla area and this is where they lived, worked and raised their family through the years. Ernestine worked at the William Langer Jewel Bearing Plant in Rolla from 1955 to 1983 when she retired. Louis passed away on October 3, 1993. Thereafter Ernestine commuted between Rolla and Devils Lake where she spent time with her daughter and family. Ernestine was a baptized, confirmed and a very active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Society. She was also an Oblate of St. Ann. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, the Belcourt Quilter’s Circle and the Elder’s Wellness Walking Group at the Turtle Mountain Community College. Ernestine had many talents and hobbies. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, quilting, knitting and gardening. She especially loved visiting her grandchildren. Ernestine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is a treasure we will never forget. Ernestine is survived by her children Duane (Sheila) Jeanotte, Billings, MT, Betty Fredricksen, Ocala, FL, Harold “Gus” (Sharon) Jeanotte, Silesia, MT, Loretta (Ron) Leith, Redwood Falls, MN, Lori Boulanger, Delray Beach, FL and Karla (Cam) Sigette, Devils Lake, ND; eleven grandchildren Derik Jeanotte, Justin Guzman, Jennifer Olveda, Heidi Maxwell, Amy Jeanotte, Jade Pederson, Cory Pederson, Chelsea Fuentes, Brandon Sigette, Kayla Sigette and Zachariah Moen; twelve great grandchildren Brianna and Tyler Maxwell, Jeremiah, Olivia and Maxwell Fredricksen, Isaiah Fuentes, Isabel Olveda, Nika, Sasha, Emma, Alex and George Guzman; brothers Fred Schindler, Edward (Jan) Schindler, Duane (Delores) Schindler and Wesley Schindler; sisters Frances (Bert) Bercier and Diane LaChapelle and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Louis; grandson Jeremy Fredricksen; sisters Arvella Pays, Viola Eller, Edna Cain and Elaine Rodland and brother Robert Schindler. The family prefers donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alz.org
