ROBERT N. ANDERSON

Robert N. Anderson, 87 of Devils Lake, ND passed away early Saturday morning, September 22, 2012 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. A Memorial Service for Robert will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Rev. Jeff Nicla, Pastor of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake will officiate. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Robert Norman Anderson, son of Edwin and Minnie Anderson was born on November 2, 1924 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake. He attended DeGroat Township School. Robert worked in the Devils Lake area his entire life at a variety of jobs, including several years at the Gilbertson-Gloger Funeral Home, Maintenance at St. Olaf Lutheran Church and as a Bus Driver for Senior Meals on Wheels for many years. Bob also helped with the mowing and upkeep of the Chain Lakes Cemetery for several years. Robert was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, served on the Retreat Center Board and was a former member of the Devils Lake Elks Lodge. Robert was always a very conscientious and faithful worker. In the later years he enjoyed driving around the countryside and visiting with friends and neighbors. Bob is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Jessie Anderson of El Paso, Texas and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Einor Anderson, Maynard Anderson and Howard Anderson and sister Inga Wang.
