MABLE A. MILLER

Mable A. Miller, 88 of Devils Lake, ND passed away at the Woodside Village Care Center, Grand Forks, ND on Friday evening, October 19, 2012. Funeral Services for Mable will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Rev. Jeff Nicla, Pastor, St. Olaf Lutheran Church will officiate and burial will be in the Antelope Valley Lutheran Cemetery, rural Oberon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Family and friends of Mable will serve as Casket Bearers. Music will be provided by Russell and Lynda Pearson. Mable Agnes was born on February 15, 1924 at rural Oberon, ND the daughter of Andreas and Ida (Flaskrud) Berghagen. She was reared and educated at Maddock, ND attending Maddock Public School. Mable was united in marriage to Raymond McCormick on November 24, 1944 at MInnewaukan, ND. They established their home in Maddock where they lived, worked and raised their family through the years. In 1965, the family moved to Devils Lake and Mable worked at the Lake Region Lutheran Home for eleven years and as a Foster Grandparent at the Heartland Day Care Center for four years. Raymond passed away in 1977 and Mable continued to make Devils Lake her home. Mable was united in marriage to Clarence Miller on October 15, 1999 in Grand Forks and they also made Devils Lake their home through the years. Mable was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, lifetime member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary and held several offices with the organization. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Rebekahs and worked many hours with RSVP. (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) She was a woman who served her community and who loved to help others whenever she could. Mable is survived by her husband Clarence; daughter Linda and her husband Jeff Trower of Huntington Beach, California and her son Wayne McCormick of Grand Forks; grandchildren Cameron Trower and Austin Trower and great grandson Holden Trower; stepchildren and their spouses Ed and Bonnie Miller, Rose and Dennis Windjue and Nick and Sandy Miller all of Devils Lake, Allan Miller of Cando, ND and Tim Miller of Fargo, ND; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. Mable was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; brothers, Oscar, Alvin, Lloyd, Norman and Gilman Berghagen; sisters Ilma Bjerke and Hazel Bergsgarrd; step brothers, Bert, Harley and Elmer Guskjolen; Friends may sign the online register book and share memories of Mable at www.gilbertsonfuneralhome.com
