Bennett A. “Ben” Black
(November 26, 1966 – December 2012)
Bennett A. Black, 46 of St. Michael, ND made his journey to heaven on December 3, 2012 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, surrounded by his loving family and friends who loved him very much. Bennett was a loving father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
Funeral Services for Bennett will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. Fr. Brian Moen will officiate and burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. The wake for Bennett will be held at St. Michael’s Recreation Center on Friday beginning at 5:00 p.m. with the Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael’s Recreation Center will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Bennett will be Trestan Demarce, Claude Black Sr., Curtis Black, Dustin Black, Wesley Jackson, Wayne Black, Sheldon Black and Brandon Black.

Bennett Black was born on November 26, 1966 at Devils Lake, ND. The son of Charles Jr. and Mary Evelyn (Gourd) Black. He grew up in St. Michael and graduated from the Little Flower School in St. Michael. He attended and graduated from Warwick High School. Bennett worked at Sioux Manufacturing Corporation and he worked in Security at the Spirit Lake Casino & Resort for 16 years. Bennett was a hard working, well respected individual by all who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with friends & family and most of all spending time with his children. His warm, gentle and loving smile will be forever missed by his family.
Bennett is survived by his children, Megan, Bennett Jr., Anferny, Dagny and Evan Black; mother, Mary Evelyn Black; brothers, Claude Black Sr., Craig Scott Black Sr., William Black Sr.; sisters, Connie Black and Sharon (Perry) Black-Mudgett; aunts, Carol Black, Lea “Sugar” Black and Margie Little; uncles, Jim (Deanna) Baker and Pierre Culbertson; special niece, Nicole Demarce; nieces, Iris, Ivory and Kyla Black, Heaven Longie, DaNae, Rabecca and Hailey Black, Penny Mudgett, Terri, Whitney, Tasha and Danica Black and Sarah Newman; special nephews, Sheldon and Brandon Black; nephews, Joe Cavanaugh, C.J. A special “thank you” to the Spirit Lake Ambulance Crew, the ER staff at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake and CCU staff at Sanford Hospital in Fargo for the care they provided for Bennett.
