Andrew “Andy” Horner, 58 of Devils Lake, ND passed away at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake on Monday, January 14 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a family service at 7:00pm. Andy was born April 12, 1954 the 8th child of Merle C. and Cora A. Horner. Andy attended Devils Lake schools and graduated with the class of 1972. He also attended Lake Region State College. Andy was a member of St Olaf Lutheran church and was baptized and confirmed there. He attended Sunday school and church receiving several perfect attendance pins as a child. Andy was currently the Director of the Devils Lake Community Service program, a job he thoroughly enjoyed and truly gave 100% to. Prior to this he worked at Ultimate Audio, and Dakota Prairie Community Action Agency. Music was Andy's lifelong passion. He brought his family and friends so much joy with his love of music and his beautiful voice. Andy was a sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed hockey and the UND fighting Sioux hockey team. Football and Nascar events were next in line. Andy will always be remembered for his contagious smile, his warm hugs, his gentle soul, and kind heart. Andy is survived by his sisters Carolyn Sager Devils Lake, Myrna Unger Devils Lake, Harriet Horner-Larson (Doug Omdahl) Fordville, Vicki(Tom) Gerstbrein New Berlin, Wisconsin, Dori (Brad) Horne Penn ND. Brothers Perry (Pat) Horner Mesa AZ., John (Lisa) Horner Lewiston, Idaho and Brother in law Dale (Sandie) Nystrom New Rockford, ND. As well as many special nephews and nieces and cousins. Andy was preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, his brother Dwight, sister Ida Mae Nystrom, brother in law Bob Sager, nephew James Nystrom, and niece Wanda Rethemeier.
