Deloris Lucille (Forde) Langley, 84 of Warwick, ND passed away at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake on Friday, January 11, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after years of Alzheimer’s and most recently cancer. Funeral Services for Deloris will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Warwick Lutheran Church, Warwick, ND. Rev. John Monson will officiate and Deloris will be laid to rest in the Warwick Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Deloris’ seven grandsons, Richard Nordick, Michael Nordick, James Nordick, Mike Held, Jacob Held, Tanner Langley and Austin Langley will serve as the Casket Bearers. Honorary Bearers will be Deloris’ eight granddaughters, Lacey Langley, Savanna Langley, Julee Warren, Kate Langley, Megan Laudenschlager, Taylor Langley, Bobbie Jo Miller and Billie Jo Miller. Deloris was born December 1, 1928 at Pekin, ND, the daughter of James and Mabel (Tufto) Forde. She attended school in her early years in Pekin. The family later moved to a farm near Warwick in 1941. She attended Warwick Public School, eighth grade through high school, graduating in 1946 in a class of one. She was a member of the girls’ basketball team and choir. Deloris married Byron J. Langley on November 11, 1947 and they celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on November 11, 2012. They farmed and ranched near Warwick. Deloris devoted her love, time and energy on her family, and enjoyed attending many of their sporting events and activities from piano recitals to rodeos. She loved music and was a very talented pianist who played by ear. She enjoyed doing needlework, flower gardening, and quilting; creating many pieces for her children and grandchildren. Bowling and golfing were among some of her favorite activities. Throughout the years, Deloris and Byron traveled with their good friends, John and Karen Hovey, visiting many states including Alaska and Hawaii. They also traveled to Europe, Mexico and Deloris achieved her life-long dream, traveling to Norway to visit her ancestral heritage. She was a member of a homemaker’s club, garden club, New Rockford Golf Club, the Warwick Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid and participated in many Democratic-NPL activities with her husband. She is survived by her husband, Byron Langley, Warwick; five children: Darla (Bob) Miller, Menoken, ND, Maxine (Robert) Nordick, Horace, ND, James E. (Mary) Langley, Gene (Peggy) Langley and Preston (Marnie) Langley all of Warwick; There are fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren: Hailee, Charlee, Rylee, Zander and Adley, one brother: Howard Forde of Mandan, ND; sister-in-law Beatrice Cudworth and brother-in-law Frank (Lois) Langley both of Sheyenne. Deloris was preceded in death by her mom and dad, James and Mabel Forde; sister, Maxine Forde; brother, John Forde and nephews, Scott Forde and Myron Cudworth.
