Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery, rural Starkweather in the spring. Music will be provided by Russell and Lynda Pearson. Edith, daughter of Theodore and Lena (Helland) Tweeten was born on September 21, 1919 on the farm, rural Southam, North Dakota. She was reared and educated in Southam and Lakota. Edith was united in marriage to Raymond L. Gibson on February 28, 1942 and they established their home in Garske, ND where Ray worked as a mechanic and was the owner and operator of Gibson Trucking and Son. Edith’s priority was always her family. She was a Foster Parent to many children over the years and she and Ray felt truly blessed when they adopted their sons, Raymond and Robert. She was always there for them, providing love and guidance and sharing her faith and trust in the Lord. Ray passed away on March 10, 1991. Edith stayed in Garske for a couple of years, then moved into Devils Lake. She moved to Bismarck a year ago to be closer to family. Edith was never idle and loved to bake and share her delicious creations with family and friends. She definitely had a “green thumb” and lovingly cared for many, many plants through the years. Edith was a member of Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church, Starkweather, ND. Edith is survived by her son Raymond (Sandy) Gibson of Bismarck; daughter-in-law Cheryl Kopec of Landenberg, PA; granddaughters Tessa R. Gibson and Zadi Gibson; brother Duane “Dewey” Tweeten and his wife, June; sister, Leona Winters of Detroit Lakes, MN; several nieces and nephews.
