VIRGINIA L. LINABITZ

Virginia L. Linabitz, of Devils Lake formerly of Hebron and Penn, ND passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake. She was 90 years old. Funeral Services for Virginia will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Rev. Jimmy Harris, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Friday, (today) from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Virginia Louise, daughter of Fred and Rose (Schneider) Klein was born on February 19, 1922 at Medina, ND. She was reared on the family farm and educated in the Hebron, ND area and was a baptized member of the Hebron Baptist Church. Virginia was united in marriage to Nick P. Linabitz on November 27, 1939 at Hebron. They made Hebron their home until 1962 when they moved to Penn, ND and Nick managed the GTA Elevator for many years. In 1990, Virginia and Nick moved to Devils Lake and made this their home until their deaths. Nick passed away on July 17, 1999. Many years ago, Virginia started a small collection of pigs in a variety of forms-stuffed, ceramic, painted, etc. Through the years, the collection had grown to over 800 items. Virginia also enjoyed the excitement of WWE on TV after reading became difficult for her due to diminished eyesight. Virginia was a devoted wife and mother. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Devils Lake. She felt truly blessed to be able to live in her own home for so many years and to have her daughter so close. Virginia is survived by her daughter Peggy Linabitz of Devils Lake; son Jim Linabitz of Mandan, ND; grandson Justin Linabitz of Starkweather, ND; granddaughter Pam and her husband Ron Rosenau also of Mandan; great granddaughters Katrina Rose Linabitz, Starkweather and Nicole Rosenau, Mandan; sister-in-law Shirley Klein of Walla Walla, WA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nick; grandson Timothy Linabitz; sisters Edna Heinle and Leila Kitzan; brothers Duane Klein and Al Klein; daughter-in-law Betty Linabitz.
