Gordon Dean Bryn, 61 of Grand Forks, formerly of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Kindred Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Funeral Services for Gordon will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.
Gordon Dean was born on September 29, 1951 at Devils Lake, the son of Einar M. and Dorothy L. (Culp) Bryn. Until age 2, he lived with the family in Grand Harbor Township, rural Devils Lake. They moved to Eldon Township, west of Minnewaukan where he attended a country school until the school consolidated at which time he rode the bus to Minnewaukan, graduating from Minnewaukan High School with the class of 1970.
After high school he farmed with his father until the death of his father in 1979. He worked for one winter in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a carpenter. He moved to Grand Forks in 1980, where he resided until his death. In 2004 worked as a Janitor for The Home Place Thrift Store in Grand Forks ,and then at the Senior Center in Grand Forksas a dish washer until 2010 when he began working as a cashier at The 4th Street Eatery and was still employed there.
Gordon lead a full life which included many interests he especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing the odds at the local Bingo hall. Gordon also enjoyed going out to eat at least weekly with his friends.
Gordon is survived by his brother, Derrol Fred Bryn and wife Rhonda of Rockport, Texas; nieces and nephews, Mike (Amy) Bryn, Anna Cook, Shane (Tammy) Lee, Mandi (John Foster) Huddelson, Justin Lee and Josh Lee; seventeen grand nieces and grand nephews and numerous cousins and his dear friends and roommates.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and his grandparents.
