Emrolyn K. WhiteTail-Edddins (A Good Road Woman) 47 of Sioux Falls, SD-our beloved and courageous wife, mother, grandmother, sister and cousin passed onto the Spirit World on Friday afternoon, April 26th, 2013 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND with family by her side.
The Wake for Emrolyn will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center, Fort Totten on Friday, May 3, 2013 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Friday at 5:00 p.m. from Wal-Mart. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, May 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten. Emrolyn will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.
Music will be provided by Tony and Vina McDonald. All Drum Groups are welcome to share their songs in memory of Emrolyn.
Emrolyn Kae WhiteTail was born on February 23, 1966 at Los Angeles, California, the daughter of the late Dorothy (Dunn) and Byron WhiteTail.
Emrolyn stayed on the Spirit Lake Nation and cared for her mother from 1996 until her passing in 2002. Emrolyn then moved away from Spirit Lake and lived in several different areas of South Dakota and North Dakota. She now made her home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with her fiancé Nathaniel Eddins.
One of Emrolyn’s many enjoyments included traveling, listening to Soul music, meeting new people and spending time with her grandkids, whom she dearly loved. She loved seeing friends and family at the Casino and spending time with them whenever she could.
For a year, Emrolyn had to deal daily with her sickness; a sickness that would eventually take her life. She remained strong and determined to live each day to its fullest.
Emrolyn is survived by her fiancé, Nathaniel Eddins of Sioux Falls, SD; seven daughters, Rydell WhiteTail and Ashley McKay both of Fort Totten, Latasha (Kyle Beebee) McKay of Devils Lake, Tiffany (Calvin DuBois) McKay of Fort Totten, Nevada McKay, Bismarck, Bridget Sampson, Vancouver, Washington and Cheyenne WhiteTail also of Fort Totten; fifteen grandchildren, Dantae WhiteTail, Daisha WhiteTail, David Sherman Jr. and Davin Sherman; Sade McKay, Keimarah McKay; Kaysha McKay, Nathaniel Morin, Ky’Shawn McKay; Kelin McKay, Dorothy DuBois, Callee DuBois, Calvin DuBois Jr., Christopher McKay and Katelynn DuBois; three brothers, Milo Blaine WhiteTail, Quentin Bruce Whiteman and John Whiteman; five sisters, Donna WhiteTail, Rosie (David) Sherman, Felicia Reed, Cora Whiteman and Catalina Terry) Herman; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive;
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, DeVante Sampson and Walking Wind Greywater and nephew Byron WhiteTail.
