Cindy M. Abrahamson, 53 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Ecumen Evergreen of Fargo in the loving care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Funeral Services for Cindy will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Pastor Jeff Kapelle officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery at Starkweather, ND.
Honorary Bearers will be Cindy’s nephews, Ben Owens, Bill Owens and Sam Owens; sons-in-law, Shawn Deseth, Al Johnson and Sam Hanson grandson, Tanner Larson. Music will be provided by Cathy Anfinson.
Cindy Marie Abrahamson, daughter of Clayton Howard and Mazie Frances (Scott) Loehr was born on November 29, 1959 at Devils Lake. Cindy lived her whole life in Devils Lake, received her education here, graduating from Devils Lake Central High School with the class of 1978.
Cindy was a dedicated employee at the Farmers Union/Cenex Stations for the past 20 years, retiring due to health problems. She courageously battled cancer this past year, under the care of the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo. Cindy worked very hard, but when relaxing, she enjoyed following the NASCAR circuit.
She was united in marriage to Harry Abrahamson on August 29, 1992 and took his family as her own. She was a woman of faith, a kind and caring wife and mother and the best sister in the world. Cindy will never be forgotten and will be in our hearts forever.
Cindy is survived by her beloved family. Her husband, Harold; three daughters, sons-in-law and six grandchildren, Michelle and Shawn Deseth and their children Tanner Larson and Caden Deseth of Glendive, MT; Jennifer and Allen Johnson and their children Parish Halle, Joey Heiser and Marcus Heiser of Devils Lake; Janelle and Sam Hanson and their daughter Codi Rose Hanson of Sheyenne, ND; sisters and brothers-in-law, Denice and Galen Owens of Fargo and Cleo and Mark Swenson of Blaine, MN; nieces and nephews, Ben Owens and Kelly Owens of Ramsey, MN, Bill Owens and Danis Owens of Fargo and Sam Owens of San Marcos, TX; great nieces, Katelyn and Isabella Owens. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and infant brothers, Marcus and Howard.
