Frances Mary, daughter of Michael and Johanna (Schwan) Senger was born on November 9, 1921 at Devils Lake, ND. She would make Ramsey County her home her 91 plus years. Frances graduated from St. Mary’s Academy with the class of 1939. She also attended Lake Region Junior College later in life. Frances was united in marriage to Edward Daniels on July 27, 1942 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They established their home on a farm, near Sweetwater Lake for several years and eventually moved closer to Devils Lake but continued farming and in 1978, moved into Devils Lake. Frances was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society, VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. Frances was always the hard working, devoted wife and mother. She worked side by side with Edward in the operation of the farm and ranch and in raising their six children. In the years on the farm, the daylight hours were filled with work, but in the evenings there was always time for a game of cards with family and friends. Frances had many talents. She was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed making “German dishes” for the family. She also discovered her talent as an artist. Her first painting was a scene on the side of the barn on the farm. From that first painting came many many more which Frances so generously shared with family, friends and were also enjoyed by everyone at Mr. and Mrs. J’s. We are so thankful to have had our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend in our lives for so many years. We are thankful now to have her resting in the arms of God. Those blessed to have shared in the life of Frances.
