He was involved with the church as a Sunday School teacher and served on the search committee for several years and was the spiritual leader for his family.
Arnold had an engineering mind and often came up with creative solutions to problems or a better way of doing things. Both he and Betty enjoyed collecting antiques and he loved showing his collections to visitors. He loved to play cards, dance, write poems and to laugh. Betty passed away after a long bout with cancer on May 8, 1992 and is buried at the Storlie Cemetery, Hampden.
On June 19, 1995, Arnold married Myriam Williams of Rapid City, SD. They for many years spent the summers on the farm and winters in Mesa, AZ, but recently Mesa year round. Myriam is like an angel to the family and Vickie and Karl both appreciate the companionship and care she gave to their father.
