Dorothy M. Lindenberg, 87, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Woodside Village Care Center in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held Friday August 2, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel in Devils Lake, ND. Rev. Robert Buechler will officiate and burial will be at Trinity-Bergen Cemetery, rural Starkweather, ND. Visitation will be Thursday August 1, 2013 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Gilbertson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Dorothy was born April 13, 1926 in Riverside, California to Howard and Madge (Cameron) Kiddoo and was reared on a citrus ranch in Escondido, CA. She was educated there and graduated from Escondido High School. After high school she worked at a drug store soda fountain and this is where she met Ervin. Dorothy was united in marriage to Ervin W. Lindenberg November 6, 1943 in Escondido, CA where they established their home and she worked at the Boeing Factory during World War II. After Ervin was discharged from the U.S. Army they moved to North Dakota to operate a clothing store. They started farming in rural Starkweather and Hampden and also raised their family there through the years. In 1979, they moved to Starkweather and in 1991 they moved to Grand Forks. Ervin died April 5, 1993. Dorothy continued to make her home in Grand Forks until her death. She was a member of the Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church. Dorothy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Barton and Lein of Turlock, CA, Wayne and Karen of Webster, ND, Dwight of Omaha, NE, and Steve and Cathy of Grand Forks, ND. Eight grandchildren: Brenda (Brian) Stanton, Michael (Cheryl) Lindenberg and Megan Lindenberg; Brooke (Jason) Schall and Josh (Lori) Lindenberg; Brett (Jess) Lindenberg, Ryan (Shelby) Lindenberg and Pamela (Donovan) Kroeplin; nine great-grandchildren: Malaya, Ellowyn, Adrian, Rebecca, Emma, Audrey, Brenna, Barrett and Luna; her sister, Patricia Newton of Venture, CA Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother David Kiddoo.
