Sharon A. Rader, 75 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Mass of the Resurrection for Sharon will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with burial in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Sharon will be Sharon’s sons, Pete Denault and Kevin Denault and her grandsons, Otto Rader Jr., Gordon Rader, Shea Denault, Jackie Rader Jr., Jesse Ahoe and Rex Overton Jr. Honorary Bearers will be all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Music will be provided by JoDee Lagein and Reading the Scriptures will be Rex Overton and Dennis Sollom and Gift Bearers will be Sharon’s grandsons, Jordan Rader, Joseph Denault and Anthony Hoffart Jr.
Sharon Ann, daughter of Isabelle Zaste and George Goosling was born on June 20, 1938 at Belcourt, ND. She grew up in the Walhalla area and attended Walhalla Public School. Sharon was at one time married to Albert Denault.
Sharon dedicated her life to caring for and providing for her family. As a family, they lived in several different areas of North Dakota, including, Walhalla, Cavalier, Clyde, Starkweather and Nekoma. In the early 1970’s, Sharon and the family moved to Devils Lake and would call this home until her death. Sharon worked at the Daily Journal for over 15 years and most recently had worked for six years at Spirit Lake Casino and Resort. Sharon was united in marriage to Leland Rader on July 3, 1975.
In the early years, Sharon enjoyed dancing, the outdoors, fishing and tending her flower beds. She also liked an outing to the Casino with friends and family. For the past couple of years, Sharon has devoted much of her time to caring for her ailing husband.
You could write a book of the many memories there are of Sharon. But our most vivid memories will always be that there was never any sacrifice too great to make for family and her always unconditional love and support for her family. That was our beloved wife, mother and grandmother whom we shall miss so very much.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 38 years, Leland; children, Mary Rader, Starkweather, ND, Peter Denault, Fargo, ND, Susan (Dennis) Sollom also of Fargo, Randy (Joni) Denault, Springfield, OR, Kevin Denault, Devils Lake, Raeann (Rex) Overton, Fargo, Jack Rader, Devils Lake and step daughter, Shirley Rader also Devils Lake; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; aunt and uncle, Sylvia and Lloyd Falcon of Trenton, ND; many nieces, nephews and their families.
Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Michael Denault; daughters, Lorraine McNeely and Louise Bachmeier; mother, Isabelle; father, George; brother, David Zaste.
