Amongst his many titles, he was a very good carpenter in which he had a passion for building. He worked on many building projects all around the area. Hernando attended college at the Cankdeska Cikana Community College at Fort Totten where he was pursuing a certificate in Carpentry. He also went by the nickname of “Hernz” to his friends and “Nando” to those close to him. Hernando was a good father with so much patience and kindness. He was also a very good companion sharing many conversations about life. Most of all he was a kind, gentle man who always had a big smile on his face.
