Florence I. Brininger, 91 of Devils Lake, ND entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Her loving family was at her side.
Mass of the Resurrection for Florence will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with Fr. C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Florence will be laid to rest in the Warwick Cemetery, rural Warwick, ND.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday, August 23rdfrom 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Florence will be Terrance Zettler, Robert Brininger, Wayne Brininger Jr., Josh Brininger, Eric Zettler and David Hoffart. Gift Bearers will be Sydney Brininger, Abby Brininger, Stephanie Bryant, Sheila Parrill, Tara Zettler, and Samanatha Zettler. Music will be provided by Lynne Webster and Audrey Myklebust. Reading the Scriptures will be Wanda Zettler.
Florence Irene Doyle was born in Wood Lake Township, Benson County to Henry “Hal” and Julia (Frisk) Doyle on March 1, 1922 as the youngest child of 11. She married Earl Brininger in November of 1938 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. To this union, three children were born, Darlene, Lester and Wayne.
Florence and Earl farmed in Benson County until they retired and moved to Devils Lake. They were proud of all of their 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. Earl passed away in August of 1992.
Florence enjoyed her life surrounded by her family, friends and loved ones. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and her flowers. She was known as a care giver, always ready to help anyone in need, caring for the sick or babysitting. She took wonderful care of Earl in his invalid years.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; son, Wayne in 2013; son-in-law Richard Zettler in 1991 and two grandchildren, Lisa and Ricky Zettler; siblings, Sylvester Doyle, Sinclair Doyle, Ray Doyle, Isabella Hjelden, Olivia Jensen, Wilfred Doyle, Harold Doyle, Ambrose “Bud” Doyle, Lewis Doyle and Cecelia Wiger
She is survived by her children, Darlene Zettler of Devils Lake and Lester (Janice) Brininger of Kalispell, MT; twelve grandchildren, Terrance Zettler, Marie Bryant, Bonita (David) Hoffart, Linda Zettler, Wanda Zettler, Angela (Quinton) McEwan; Beverly Anderson, Robert (Mary Jo) Brininger, Deneen (David) Stack, Susan Brininger, Betty (David) Middleton; Wayne (Cecilia) Brininger Jr.; twenty-one great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Karen Brininger of rural Crary, ND and Jeanie Brininger of Devils Lake; many nieces, nephews and their families.
