Gregory A. Cavanaugh, 54 of Minneapolis, MN formerly of rural Tokio, ND passed away Sunday morning, September 1, 2013 at the Hennipen County Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN.
Mass of the Resurrection for Greg was held on Friday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Moen celebrating the Mass. Greg was laid to rest in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Serving as Active Pall Bearers: Jamisen Wolf Leader, Justis Wolf Leader, R.J. Jetty, Dustin Jetty, Kyle Iron Lightning, Kooper Longie, Wyatt Jetty, Rece Jetty, Callaway Longie, Zephren Jetty and Ryan Jetty.
Honorary Bearers: All of Gregory’s Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Relatives and friends, Rosa and Lillian White Temple.
Greg Allen was born April 16, 1959 in Devils Lake, ND the son of William and Gertrude (McKay) Cavanaugh. He attended elementary school at St. Michael’s, middle school at Devils Lake and graduated from Warwick High School with the class of 1977.
Greg was a basketball player throughout high school and he enjoyed riding horse in his younger days.
For about the last 20 years, Greg lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Greg is survived by his loving family. His sons, Judd Cavanaugh and Brannon Cavanaugh; his daughters, Dominique Cavanaugh and Rondina Cavanaugh; grandchildren: (Judd’s) Jadeveon Cavanaugh,, (Nikki’s) Justis, Jamisen and Josephine Wolf Leader, (Dominique’s) Olivia, Jayda and Rose Cavanaugh; one brother and niece, Billy Dean (Carolyn) Cavanaugh and Misti; three sisters and nieces and nephews, Jeanine Cavanaugh, Faye (Raymond) Jetty and RJ, Dustin and Kara, Darlis (Skip) Longie and Thorton, Kooper, Ivy and Callaway.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gertrude Cavanaugh; daughter, Nicolette A. Wolf Leader; brothers, Randall and Stanley Cavanaugh; maternal grandparents, Henry and Laura McKay; paternal grandparents, Walter and Alice Cavanaugh; nieces, Laura Jetty and Rondina Longie; foster brother, Gilbert Fassett.
