David W. Hatten of Emerado formerly of Devils Lake, ND passed away early Sunday morning, September 8th, 2013 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. He was 45 years of age.
A Memorial Service for David will be held on Thursday afternoon, September 12th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Thea Monson officiating.
Music will be provided by Russell and Lynda Pearson.
David Wayne, son of Roger and Judith (Sandbakken) Hatten was born on June 17, 1968 at Devils Lake. He was baptized at the Lakota Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. He attended elementary school at Minnie H and then Central Middle School and High School. He later received his GED. David furthered his education at Bismarck Junior College and received certification in Auto Body Repair.
He worked in Valley City, Fargo and was now working in the Grand Forks area.
David was involved in wrestling, Boy Scouts and JROTC while attending school. He had a passion for snowmobiling and motorcycles. He always enjoyed working on cars for friends and family and kept a close eye on the NASCAR racing circuit.
David leaves behind his beloved family. His precious daughter, Chloe Christine Hatten; dear parents, Roger and Judy Hatten of Devils Lake; special sister, Doreen and her husband Dick Johnson of Reynolds, ND; uncle and aunts; Bob Hatten of Harvey, ND, Elsie Sandbakken of Lakota and Ruth Ann Sandbakken of Cando, ND and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Christine Hatten and Julius and Evelyn Sandbakken; uncles, Kenneth Sandbakken and Gordon Sandbakken and cousins Brian Hatten, Tim Schmidt and Jay Schmidt.
