FRANCIS "FRANK" E. SENGER

Francis E. “Frank” Senger, 81 a lifelong resident of the Devils Lake area, passed away , Friday, September 20,2013 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. C.F. Wilhelm will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday, September 25th beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. The Rosary will be led by Gary Kurtz. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Reading the Scriptures will be Sarah Senger and the Gift Bearers will be Jordyn, Jessica and Josh Buckmier, Emily Senger and Brynn and Kallie Johnson, Frank’s grandchildren. Francis Edward Senger, son of Michael W. and Johanna (Schwan) Senger, was born September 19, 1932 in rural Devils Lake. Frank grew up on the family farm and farmed himself until 1963. He worked at Mercy Hospital in the Maintenance for 42 years and was Head of the Department when he retired. During this time he also worked at the Case Implement Company for 25 plus years. Frank was united in marriage to Gail Fitzpatrick on August 18, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake and they were faithful members of the church throughout the years. Frank loved to work and he considered that his hobby. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. Frank is survived by his wife, Gail; sons, Robert (Sarah) Senger and Patrick (Janet) Senger; daughters, Kathy (Jim) Dahlen, Kristin Buckmier and Barbara (Denny) Johnson; ten grandchildren; sisters, Marie (Tim) Kurtz, Irene (Phil) Steffan and Catherine Steffan; brothers, Wendelin T. Senger and William A. “Bill” (Betty) Senger; sister-in-law, Connie Senger; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great grandchild; sisters, Rose O’Grocho, Frances Daniels, Veronica Schiff, Lena Freeman and Julia Jorgenson; brothers, Joe, Pete and Jerry Senger.
