CANDACE ANN ROTH

Candace “Candy” A. Roth, 57 of Lawton, ND unexpectedly left this world, Sunday, October 13, 2013 to be with our Heavenly Father. She passed away at her home in Lawton. Funeral Services for Candy will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Mike Temple will officiate. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Candace Ann, was born on April 20, 1956, the daughter of Elmer and Virginia (Prusia) Roth in Carrington, ND. She attended school at Cathay, ND, graduating from Cathay High School as an Honor Student with the class of 1974. She attended Lake Region Junior College in Devils Lake, school in Mayville, ND and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from UND. She then taught one year at Rock Lake, ND. Candy worked at various Wildlife Refuges in North Dakota for several years and also as a CNA at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake. Candy returned to school and obtained her degree in nursing and worked as an RN at various nursing homes in North Dakota. Candy’s hobbies were of a mixed variety. She loved the outdoors, going for long walks and was an avid bird watcher. When time was spent indoors, she enjoyed quilt making, piano and watching TWINS baseball. She also had a soft spot for her beloved cats. Candy had a deep faith in God which helped her throughout life. She was baptized at the Cathay Methodist Church and was now a member of the Advent Church in Grand Forks, ND. Candy leaves behind two sisters, Gladys Roth of Lawton and Fern and her husband Clint Davenport of Windsor, IL; a nephew Timothy Irl Davenport and his wife, Jen and children Adien and Willow Croy; several cousins; special friends, Kelsey Rubbert, LuAnn Stromme and her family and other dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
