VIOLET MAY FOURNIER

Violet May Fournier, “Wiwakphapa Mini Win” (Sparkling Water Woman) began her journey to the Spirit World on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at her home at rural Fort Totten, ND Violet’s family will bring her home on Sunday, October 20th at 4:00 p.m. to be with them until Monday, October 21st, 2013 when Violet will be brought to the Fort Totten Recreation Center for a Wake and Prayer Service beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession from Violet’s house to the Fort Totten Recreation Center will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten with Fr. Charles Leute O.P. celebrating the Mass. Burial will take place at later date in Twin Buttes where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Norbert. Violet May, daughter of Harry Charboneau and Clementine Herman was born on July 17, 1939 at Fort Totten, ND where she was raised and educated. She attended the Calvary Square School in Fort Totten. Violet worked at several different locations in Fort Totten, but what she loved the most was working at Little Hoop College Daycare with Celeste Herman. She enjoyed taking care of the babies and young children there. Violet was a very loving, caring and giving person, who raised her grandchildren and always had an open heart and home to everyone. Violet spent a majority of her life with Norbert Fournier. They liked to travel to pow-wows, going visiting and playing Pinochle with the family. Violet is survived by her brother Roger (Shirley) Herman; sisters Louella (Kevin) Herman, Lorraine “Tootsie” (Anthony) Charboneau and Phyllis (Philip) McKay; eight kids Marie (Ole) Olson, Doris Desjarlais, Virgil Desjarlais, Priscilla Fineday, Rick (Sonja) Desjarlais, Bonnie (Peter) Bellile, , Wayne Kennedy Jr. (Amy Charboneau) and Gordon Fourneir; thirty-seven grandkids; many great grandkids and one great great grandchild; adopted kids Napolean Fournier, Larse Snortland and Shelly Fournier. Violet was preceded in death by her Dad, Harry; Mother, Clementine; husband, Norbert J. Fournier on August 30, 2009; sister, Hatti Peltier; brothers, Alfred Herman and Harry Charboneau; granddaughter, Miranda Fineday and twin grandkids, Alex and Suri Fournier. Serving as Casket Bearers for Violet will be Jason Littlewind, Richard Desjarlais Jr., Lee Crist, Janice Crist, Phyllis DuBois and Kelsey WhiteBuffalo. Honorary Bearers will be Eunice Greywater and family, Ramona Bull and family, Ordean Ironshield and family, Robert Jetty, Celeste Herman, Jesse and Paul Cavanaugh and family, the Dauphinais family, Lillah Peltier and family, Lenoir family and Charboneau family. Violet was known by everyone and loved. Sorry if we missed anybody. Please accept our apologies during this time.
