Ardis E. Tonn Drader, 63 of Devils Lake formerly of New Rockford, ND passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Funeral Services for Ardis will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Rev. Jeff Nicla officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford, ND at a later date.
Honorary Bearers for Ardis will be all of her friends and the staff at Lake Region Corporation.
Music will be provided by Jeff Nicla and Jean Aardahl.
Ardis Elaine Tonn was born on June 22, 1950 in New Rockford, ND to Martin and Mabel (Frazer) Tonn. She attended public school through 5th grade in New Rockford. She attended Special Education classes in Harvey, Jamestown, Medina and the Grand Forks Opportunity Training Center.
Ardis was united in marriage to F. Reuben Drader on October 8, 1971. The marriage later ended in divorce. Ardis worked at the White House Café as a salad preparer and dishwasher from 1971 to 1993.
On June 1, 1991, Ardis started to receive residential services (ISLA) from REM-ND in Devils Lake and was also at the Life skills Transition Center in Grafton from 1993 to 1995. After 1995 she was with 4th Corporation and REM-ND until being admitted to Lake Region Corporation on December 9, 2005 where she received services until her death.
Ardis enjoyed listening to her records, especially “Beatles” and Dolly Parton music, watching TV, attending concerts, going out to eat at restaurants, looking at magazines and shopping for new clothes. She also loved animals, especially horse, cats and her collie, Lassy.
Ardis is survived by her four brothers, George (JoAnne) Vogel, Vancouver, WA, Don Vogel, Bouse, AZ, Charles Tonn, Twisp, WA and Roger (Goldie) Tonn, Ridgefield, WA; two sisters, Marlene Spreng also of Vancouver and Beverly Simon, Mt. Angel, OR and several nieces and nephews.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.
